Remote Education Website Update March 15th 2021
For students who are required to self-isolate or during a full or partial school closure, we will provide remote education that is of equivalent length to the core teaching pupils would receive in school. This will be, as far as possible, from the first full day of the students not being in school because of Covid-19.
Students who are well enough are expected to fully participate in and complete all aspects of the work provided.
Children of critical workers and vulnerable children will be able to access full-time on-site provision in accordance with government guidelines during times of local restrictions or national lockdown. The exception to this is during times of a student needing to self-isolate when they will need to remain at home.
Remote Learning Work Expectations
Students who are self-isolating whilst the rest of the school continues to operate as normal will be sent home with a pack of work, or a pack of work will be delivered to those students who are already at home.
Students should look at their timetable each day and complete a task for each of the subjects they would have had if they had been in school.
Full School Closure:
Work will be made available each day on Microsoft Teams “Assignments”. Students will receive a range of lessons which will include recorded lessons and may include live, direct teaching. Some lessons give the opportunity for students to complete tasks and assignments independently. Many of the recorded lessons are produced by our teachers but others include learning materials produced by Oak Academy, BBC Teach or similar.
Partial School Closure:
We will provide remote education that is of equivalent length to the core teaching pupils would receive in school. The nature of the work set will be based on the needs of each situation.
