Farm To Fork Trail At Tesco
The Year 11 Aim Awards group had the opportunity today to go behind the scenes and explore where our food comes from. This links in very nicely our current work about basic food preparation. We were lucky enough to have the chance to speak to staff on the delicatessen and fish counter, along with going behind the scenes of the bakery to see how fresh bread is made in store. Pupils completed a challenge in the fruit and vegetable (produce) aisles to find products of different colours and discuss how and where in the world these are grown.
The tour ended on a high note when we all had the chance to sample a variety of goodies, from chorizo sausage to smoked cheeses. We are all agreed this was a very enjoyable and informative experience.
