U13 Girls Indoor Cricket - Wednesday 17th January

Our school hosted this event – a big thanks to Miss Mottram, Miss Taylor and Mr Williams for running the competition. Our girls played a round robin tournament against three other local schools (Rawlins, Charnwood and De Lisle). The Limehurst team beat Rawlins, then drew with De Lisle and finally beat Charnwood. As a result our girls won! A fantastic performance by our ladies who were led by Sarina Vaidya. Sarina has recently been selected to train with the Leicestershire county team for her age group! Results were: 1st – Limehurst; 2nd – Rawlins; 3rd – Charnwood; 4th – De Lisle.

KS3 Boys Badminton – Thursday 18th January

This competition was hosted by WBV. Thanks to Mr Robinson for taking our team. Our boys came up against fierce local opponents in this gripping tournament. Teams from Charnwood, Iveshead, Rawlins, De Lisle, and Woodbrook Vale were all strong and our lads held their own for many points. Our opponents were just too good in the end but a good evening of Badminton was had by all. Well done to our lads for representing the school: Luke, Kieran, Tahmied and Yuri.

Yr10/11 Futsal – Tuesday 23rd January

Charnwood College hosted this tournament and ex Limehurst student Mo Aljaf refereed the games! Thanks to Mr Croucher and Miss Dexter for taking the team over. Our girls played some lovely futsal (indoor football with a weighted ball). The girls’ passing and moving improved as the tournament progressed. We played some really strong teams in Rawlins, Charnwood and Iveshead and although we lost our games we gave a great account of ourselves. Well done to the ladies involved: Aiysha, Karmun, Tasfia, Molly, Rosie (playing a year up) and Chelsea (playing a year up).

U13 Boys Indoor Cricket – Wednesday 24th January

This competition was hosted by Charnwood. Thanks to Mr Williams and Mr Robinson for taking our team. Our boys played some good cricket with the highlight being taking three early wickets against Loughborough Grammar – the tournament favourites. Loughborough Grammar did settle down and managed to beat us. They went on to win the competition that also involved Charnwood, Rawlins and De Lisle. It was great to see our lads playing and representing the school. Well done to all involved.

KS3 Girls Badminton – Thursday 25th January

This competition was hosted by Woodbrook Vale. Thanks to Miss Mottram for taking our team. Our girls played really well and won a good amount of games. The following teams were present: Convent, Loughborough High, Charnwood, Rawlins, De Lisle, Iveshead and Woodbrook Vale. Our local opponents just proved a little stronger and won more games than us but is was a real pleasure to see badminton played so well with such good sportsmanship. Well done to all involved: Hasinah, Alexa, Maariyah and Mariam.

KS3 and KS4 Boccia – Monday 29th January

It was an incredibly tight completion and had to be decided on count back. Our lads were brilliant in their first ever competition (Michael, Morgan, Sam and Josh). The overall winners were Maplewell on points difference.  The table of results is below.
